On the the August 12 meeting of  the Surrey Heath Veterans & Families – Listening Project [SHV&F-LP website HERE].

Everyone gets a warm welcome from Debbie and Roy Sellstrom, the inspiring driving force of this charity, which aims “to enhance and improve the quality of the day-to-day lives of HM veterans as well as their  families, through support, information, sign-posting”.

They met at the Camberley Sea Cadets  home in Frimley, on the corner of Frimley Road and Gilbert Road –  2a Gilbert Road, Frimley, Surrey GU16 7RF. Camberley Sea Cadets ship’s name is TS DIADEM, and lightwater.wordpress.com got a photograph of the ship’s bell.

The welcome includes refreshments, and importantly a selection of sticky buns, and donuts, which Debbie Sellstrom rightly calls ‘Donut Therapy’.

Visitors received a presentation from Amanda Robinson from Oakleaf Enterprise – “the only mental health charity in Surrey working as a social enterprise to provide vocational training for those suffering from mental health issues”.

An informative, rewarding, and enjoyable day, at an interesting venue.
